From the Introduction by Bernd Guenter…..
“Bob’s Best Berners reflects artist Bob Seaver’s intimate familiarity with and deep love of
the Bernese Mountain Dog. His innate respect for his fellow creature, combined with his artistic genius and admirably keen perception
of the Berner’s soul and mind and character, allows him to portray the breed humorously without ever ridiculing it. He benevolently
and winkingly anthropomorphizes his Berners in seemingly simple, light, and entertaining sketches, yet never deprives them of their
dignity.”
Bob Seaver is a child psychiatrist in Mt Kisco New York and his cartoons have appeared in The American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry News, Who’s Afraid? The Phobic’s Handbook by Barbara Fried and Your Trip to the Hospital and Brave at Bedtime, which were also written by the artist. His Berner cartoons have also appeared regularly in The Alpenhorn the official publication of the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America, for many years. Having sculpted in stone, wood and paper, Bob is also an accomplished Chinese Brush painter.
